- Introduction Family hikes, excursions to the beach, and backpacking trips to the Sierra Nevada Mountains allowed Mr. Braun to experience the beauty of the natural world. Inevitably, his eye would be drawn to the exciting photographic possibilities in nature. “Seeing with a camera is the best way I have found to feel close to the earth,” Mr. Braun said. “Since the 1960s I have been a dedicated advocate of the natural world, capturing both the mystery and beauty of the shoreline, tide pool, stream bank, and mountain meadow.”
